Biography

Daphne Greve is a senior paralegal at Griffin Humphries LLC, bringing more than 35 years of legal experience to the firm. She has worked with Badge Humphries for nearly 20 years, supporting him in securities and shareholder litigation, products liability and personal injury cases, eminent domain and property rights matters, and business disputes.

Daphne assists the firm’s attorneys at every stage of litigation, from client intake through discovery, court briefing, trial preparation, and appeal. She manages large-scale document productions, verifies citations and facts against the record, and coordinates with co-counsel and litigation support vendors in multi-firm matters. Her recent work includes shareholder actions in state and federal courts, professional malpractice claims, and landowner representation in natural gas pipeline condemnation actions in Hampton and Colleton counties.

Daphne began her legal career in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1991. After moving to South Carolina in 1997, she joined Ness, Motley, Loadholt, Richardson & Poole, the firm that became Motley Rice LLC, as legal secretary to member Edward B. Cottingham, Jr. She then worked for Badge from 2004 to 2006 and for the late Joseph F. Rice (“Joe”), a co-founder of Motley Rice, from 2006 to 2009, before returning to Badge as his paralegal. Over her 17 years there, she supported mass tort, products liability, securities, and consumer fraud litigation and provided on-site trial support at asbestos trials in multiple states.

When Badge moved to Lewis Babcock & Griffin L.L.P. in 2014, Daphne went with him as his senior paralegal. In 2020, when Badge and James Griffin founded Griffin Humphries LLC, Daphne was part of the firm from the start, continuing a working relationship with Badge that began at Motley Rice in 2004.

Daphne takes pride in the care and precision she brings to every matter and in the trust she builds with the firm’s clients and attorneys.
