June 2, 2025 • News

Congratulations to our founding partners! James Griffin and Badge Humpries are included in the 2025 Super Lawyers directory and its companion piece, South Carolina Super Lawyers.
Jim Griffin, based in Columbia, is listed in the practice areas of healthcare and civil litigation, white-collar crimes. Badge Humphries, based in Charleston, is listed in general litigation, securities litigation, and products liability.
Published annually for more than 30 years, Super Lawyers’ goal is to create a national directory of outstanding attorneys across dozens of practice areas. Jim is appearing in Super Lawyers for the ninth time, including the past four years consecutively. Badge is listed for the third consecutive year. He also was previously included in Rising Stars, a Super Lawyers companion piece that recognizes younger attorneys.
Both offer clients decades of experience trying cases in state and federal courts across South Carolina.
An accomplished trial lawyer in criminal and civil court, Jim has served as lead counsel in cases that have drawn national attention. He’s also secured verdicts and settlements in civil cases.
Holding law licenses in three states, Badge represents institutional investors and individuals in securities and shareholder derivative cases. He also fights for those harmed by others in products liability and personal injury cases.
About Super Lawyers
The patented Super Lawyers selection process begins with peer review, then continues with an assessment of nominated attorneys based on a dozen indicators of professional achievement. A panel of top-rated lawyers in the same practice area then evaluates other nominees. About 5 percent are selected for inclusion. Rising Stars includes about 2.5 percent of those nominated.
